CHAS Easter Egg Collection

Pest Solutions CHAS Easter Egg Collection 2024

The smell of chocolate has been wafting through the office over the past few days thanks to the annual Pest Solutions Easter Egg collection for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

Pest Solutions CHAS Easter Egg Collection 2024

For the second year running, the Pest Solutions team have embraced this fantastic initiative, with a mountain of chocolate worthy of Willy Wonka himself building up in our Glasgow office.

Moving such a pile of goodies was no simple task, and it took the combined efforts of Abbie Kirkwood, Charlene Burns, and Siobhan Quinn to deliver all the eggs to Robin House Children’s Hospice, an incredible local hospice run by CHAS that supports Children with life-shortening conditions and their families.

Pest Solutions are Proud to Support the Work of CHAS

Easter is a time for family, joy, and of course chocolate, and with all the incredible work that CHAS do to provide the first two, it’s the least we could be to help out on the chocolate front!

We hope that this collection will help to bring a smile to as many faces as possible this Easter and make the incredible environment that CHAS have created at Robin House just that little bit more special.

This is the second year Pest Solutions have run our Easter Egg Collection after the initiative was proposed by Domestic Account Manager Siobhan Quinn this time last year. The response from our team was fantastic then, and they certainly didn’t disappoint this time around with more eggs than ever dropped off by our team over the past couple of weeks.

CHAS are an absolutely wonderful charity, doing brilliant work across our local community and we couldn’t imagine a more worthy cause to help support.

Why Did we Choose CHAS?

There are so many incredible charities doing fantastic work across Glasgow, but when it came to selecting a recipient of our Easter Egg collection, CHAS was the clear choice from the very start.

CHAS provide invaluable full family support to children, babies, and young people suffering from life-shortening conditions, and have been doing so for well over 30 years.

They currently operate two fully operational palliative end-of-life care hospices and provide homecare and hospital services all over Scotland.

One of their permanent locations is Robin House in Balloch, a hospice that provides 24/7 end of life care to children with very serious illnesses, and it was here that the Pest Solutions team dropped off the eggs that had been donated.

Here, and at their sister ‘home-from-home’ hospice at Rachel House in Kinross, a team of remarkable nurses, support workers, physios, social workers, and caregivers work tirelessly to support both residents and their families.

CHAS is built on the fundamental belief that every child deserves the chance to make memories, have fun, and live their lives to the fullest, no matter the circumstances, and we think you will agree that chocolate is a pretty good start!

We hope that the Easter Eggs delivered to Robin House can bring some joy to the faces of some unbelievably strong young people this Easter season. If they taste as half as good as they looked in the office, we are sure they will!

The Power of Easter (Eggs)

You would be amazed at just how many easter eggs can fit into one office.

Abbie Kirkwood Pest Solutions

It might have caused a few logistical problems over the last few days (ever tried holding a sales meeting using a board room table made of dairy milk?), but it was all more than worth it, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team for once again showing just how awesome they are when they put their minds to something.

We are constantly amazed day-after-day by the commitment of our team to supporting each other, our customers, and our community, and the popularity of our CHAS Easter Egg collection is testament to just that.

The Easter Egg collecting is all over for this year, but our charity support certainly isn’t so keep an eye out over the coming weeks and months for what we get up to next.

Chocolate is always nice, but charities such as CHAS simply can’t survive without something a bit more substantial than chocolate coins, and are only able to do what they do thanks to the kind donations of the people of Glasgow and beyond.

Every single penny that is donated to CHAS is guaranteed to go towards the most worthy of causes and we would urge absolutely anyone to give anything that they can by visiting: https://www.chas.org.uk/donate.

How Can You Help?

A trip to Robin House might fool you into thinking the people who work at CHAS are superheroes.

The fact is though, these are incredibly hard working and dedicated professionals who are only able to do what they do thanks to the continued support and funding of people like you.

To learn more about what CHAS do, and the many different ways in which you can support their work, visit https://www.chas.org.uk/get-involved/support-us/as-an-individual.

Whatever you are able to give, whether it is a monetary donation, or your valuable time, you can rest assured that nothing could be more important or worthwhile.

Our Future Plans

The Easter Egg collections has quickly become a firm tradition here at Pest Solutions and we are already looking forward to going again in 2025. We are a company built on our commitment to corporate responsibility however, and we certainly won’t be waiting that long to support more charitable causes. We regularly participate in other fundraising and volunteering efforts on behalf of CHAS, and other important local causes close to our hearts including collecting for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice’s Light up a Life campaign each Christmas.

Keep an eye out on our website and our socials for the latest on what we are getting up to and for more information on how you can get involved.

Finally, a very happy Easter to all from the team here at Pest Solutions and we look forward to seeing you soon!
