Pigeon Control in Norwich
Feral pigeons are the most common bird problem across Norwich and the surrounding areas.
The city centre, the Castle Quarter, the Norwich Lanes, and commercial premises on the ring road generate consistent pigeon pressure year-round, because flat-roofed buildings and open parapets give them exactly the undisturbed ledge surfaces they look for.
A pair can produce up to six broods a year, and without a deterrent system in place, successive generations expand the roost on the same building each season.
Once pigeons perch regularly on a building, fouling accumulates quickly on signage, vehicles, and pedestrian entrances below.
Pigeon fouling: health risks and structural damage
There are a number of reasons why you should take bird fouling seriously.
Bird droppings carry Salmonella, E. coli, and the bacteria responsible for salmonellosis.
Guano is also acidic and corrodes metalwork and stonework, while droppings below a roost cause damage to paintwork on signage and plant equipment.
On commercial premises, a bird infestation that reaches an environmental health inspector will cause problems.
Luckily, our bird control programme covers a thorough inspection, identification of all roost and nest points, deterrent installation, and guano removal where required.
Solar Panel Pigeon Proofing in Norwich
Panel ownership across Norwich’s suburban residential areas has increased steadily.
But solar panels that were installed without appropriate bird-proofing often suffer from unwanted pigeon populations nesting underneath them.
Nesting materials trapped near panel wiring are a fire risk. The droppings on the panel surface reduce output, and damage to property from fouling beneath the array builds up quickly once a nest is established.
Pigeons return to the same location every season. Stop that cycle with Pest Solutions.
We seal the gap beneath the panels so there is no nesting site to come back to, so the problem does not re-establish.
Our solar panel pigeon proofing fits a steel mesh system to the perimeter of the panel array.
The mesh closes the gap between the panel edge and the roof surface permanently, and all panel types and roof configurations remain fully accessible for maintenance.

Gull Control in Norwich
Norwich sits roughly 25 miles from the Norfolk coast, but the River Wensum and the Norfolk Broads waterway network pull herring gulls and lesser black-backed gulls into the city.
Gull colonies have established on commercial rooftops across Norwich city centre, and their presence creates pest problems that intensify sharply through the nesting season.
Gulls on commercial and industrial rooftops
Nesting gulls on a commercial rooftop are loud. They often cause sleepless nights for hotel guests and nearby residents.
Gulls will aggressively swoop at anyone moving below an active nest site during the breeding season.
Pigeons and seagulls both spread diseases to humans through fouling, and gull droppings damage buildings as well.
Nesting materials clog gutters while fouling reaches ventilation intakes. But nest removal alone is not enough.
The same birds return to the same site every year without a deterrent which is exactly why we specialise in bird proofing properties.
Wildlife and Countryside Act licensing
All wild birds are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
Gulls receive additional protection, and active nest removal requires the correct licence.
Our pest control professionals manage all licensing requirements so that bird control in Norwich is carried out in full legal compliance.
We also advise on timing too.
Working outside the active nesting season reduces the licensing requirements and lowers the overall cost of the work across Norwich and the surrounding Norfolk area.
For trusted and effective pest control, you can rely on our service.
Bird Deterrent and Proofing Systems in Norwich
The quality of bird proofing installation and the method specified both determine whether a bird control system holds long-term. We recommend bird control solutions based on a site survey of the species, building type, and level of activity.
Bird netting
Bird netting excludes pest birds from an entire elevation, roof section, or void.
It is a great choice for large or complex structures where ledge-by-ledge methods cannot achieve total exclusion.
Net systems are tensioned on stainless steel frameworks and effectively invisible from street level when correctly installed on commercial sites across Norwich.
Bird spikes and bird wire
Bird spikes deter birds from landing on flat, horizontal surfaces: ledges, parapets, signage, and roof ridges where pigeons perch.
Bird wire achieves the same result at a lower profile and suits listed buildings and heritage properties in Norwich city centre where visible hardware is a consideration.
Avishock electric track
Avishock electric track delivers a low-level conditioning shock to birds that land on it, without causing harm.
It is the preferred deterrent for sensitive heritage environments across Norwich where mechanical systems would be too visible or too large to fit narrow ledges.
Bird Free gel
Bird Free gel posts reflect UV light in a way birds perceive as fire. Birds avoid surfaces treated with the gel and stop returning to them.
It suits open ledges, CCTV brackets, and signage across Norwich and Norfolk.
When viewed from the ground, it is virtually invisible.
Falconry bird control
Falconry uses trained hawks and falcons to deter birds and disperse established pest bird populations from open areas.
This is a viable solution for areas where physical proofing is not practical, such as car parks, distribution yards, and industrial site.
Falconry is not a one-off solution, and typically follows a scheduled programme for effective bird proofing. We help advise on pest management across the region to prevent bird issues.
Commercial Bird Control for Norwich Businesses
Bird infestation carries direct regulatory consequences for businesses in Norwich.
Food businesses in the Norwich Lanes, hotel kitchens, and warehouse and distribution operations all have pest management obligations, and bird fouling near food preparation or storage areas will trigger an environmental health response.
Our commercial pest control in Norwich covers bird control within integrated pest management programmes. We work with minimal disruption to site operations. Every survey and treatment is documented in writing, with records produced for supplier audits and food safety compliance across Norfolk.
Commercial bird control services also extend to guano removal and decontamination on sites where fouling has accumulated. Removal is often needed before proofing installation so deterrents are fitted to a clean surface.
Businesses across Norfolk and into Suffolk can also request support for rodent control, wasps, rats and mice, bed bugs, and other common pest species alongside bird control.

Norwich Bird Control: Your Questions Answered
What bird species do you control in Norwich?
Our bird control covers feral pigeons and seagulls as the most common pest bird species in Norwich, along with starlings, sparrows, and other problem species. A thorough inspection during the site survey identifies which birds are active and which control method is appropriate.
What is the best method of bird control?
The most effective solution depends on the site. Bird netting is right for total exclusion across large surfaces, while bird spikes and wire suit individual ledges and falconry works for open-area dispersal. Our bird control experts assess the building and species, then specify a deterrent system matched to the site so that bird activity is removed and does not return.
Are birds protected?
Birds are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, so disturbing an active nest or removing eggs without a licence is an offence. Our pest control professionals handle all licensing for gull control and any other protected species work, so that bird control in Norwich is carried out in full legal compliance.
