Football fever has hit Pest Solutions this summer and we were delighted to sponsor local side Hamilton Academical U-16s as they battled with Europe’s elite at SuperCup NI 2024.
In a summer of major international sporting events, Northern Ireland was the place to be this July as some of the world’s most elite footballing academies competed at SuperCup NI.
One of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the world, the SuperCup NI, first began back in 1983 and has involved competitions for U-19, U-16, and U-14 over the past 40 years.
The calibre of participants is always incredible high with past winners including the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona, and Manchester United, with superstars such as Wayne Rooney, Sergio Busquets, Paul Scholes, and Mats Hummels just some of those who honed their skills at the event as a youngster.
If the 2024 edition is anything to go by, there is a very bright future ahead for Hamilton Academical, with the lads putting on an excellent showing, topping their group in style ahead of countrymen Rangers, a local Co. Tyrone side, and Otago, who travelled all the way from New Zealand to compete.
Sailing through their group thanks to comprehensive 4-0 victories over both Rangers and Otavio, with some fantastic football played across the park and some excellent goals scored.
Despite eventually being knocked out to competition favourites Manchester United in the semi-final, the lads did themselves proud and we couldn’t be more delighted to have played some small part in making their journey possible!
Why did we sponsor the team?
With our main office just along the M74 from Hamilton up in Seaward Place, this was not only an opportunity to support a great cause within our local community but to help provide a group of talented youngsters with a fantastic experience they will never forget.
We are extremely passionate about giving young people a platform to be successful and to pursue their goals, whatever they may be, and helping to facilitate such a fantastic learning experience was a no brainer.
OK, so pest control and international football tournaments might not quite be the same thing, but over the past few years we have seen exactly what is possible when you take a chance on fresh talent with the success of our graduate scheme and regularly participate in an array of school, college, and university events.
Pest Solutions are a company planning for the future and we believe in a future filled with opportunity for young people, whether that is in the world of work or in the pursuit of sporting excellence.
We pledge to continue supporting great causes in our local area and beyond in the months and years to come and are particularly excited to see what is to come for this extremely talented squad of footballers.
Get Involved
We would encourage any individuals or fellow businesses to get involved with their local sports clubs or community groups if they can, whether through volunteering, sponsorship or just as a spectator.
Without the help of the public, the opportunities for young people to succeed simply won’t exist and a huge amount of talent will go to waste.
Keep an eye out here and on our social media for news on our latest community involvement or visit https://hamiltonacciesfc.co.uk/category/academy/ for more information about the lads trip across the Irish Sea for SuperCup NI 2024.
